Sharks have been making plenty of headlines lately, but how much do we really know about these ancient ocean creatures?

They live in every ocean, have been cruising the seas since before the dinosaurs and come in more than 600 different species. So why are so many people terrified of them, and why are almost half of all shark species now endangered?
