Suicide remains an under-prioritised public health issue in Bangladesh, shaped by stigma, criminalisation, and gaps in mental health care. While recent laws and policies signal progress, the absence of a national suicide prevention programme and a reliable suicide database continues to hinder effective action. In this episode, we explore the current state of suicide prevention in Bangladesh, examine policy initiatives and challenges, and discuss why a coordinated, public health–focused approach is urgently needed to save lives.
