Love might be priceless, but dating can burn a serious hole in your wallet. A Malaysian study has found that 13.2% of men surveyed are willing to go into debt for a date, compared with just 4.9% of women. Nearly six in 10 men are also willing to spend more on a first date, while almost 80% would increase their spending to maintain a relationship.
On What’s Trending, Hongbin Jeong, Nadiah Koh and Alexandra Parada discuss the pressure to impress a potential partner, and how couples should split the cost when their incomes differ.
Plus, the team takes on a challenge: planning a romantic date in Singapore with just $20. Because when it comes to love, does spending more really mean caring more?
