Would you give up your name to save your life, if a tyrant demanded it first? Matthew Fox and Erin McGowan open Star Wars Generations’ new episode-by-episode watch-through of Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi with exactly that question, then dig into the animated premiere: a girl named Kara hunting for her captured father, and a warlord named Nawaam commanding an army behind a lightsaber that stubbornly refuses to turn red.Matthew argues the show undercuts its own premise by introducing Jedi-trained fighters too soon, while Erin pushes back that the scarcity was always about lost lightsabers, not lost Jedi. They also dig into whether Nawaam genuinely believes he’s still the hero, and whether Kara’s father is really collaborating with his captors or playing a longer game. If a blade that’s supposed to expose evil won’t turn red for a tyrant, what does that make him?
