John Newton once said, “God sometimes does His work with gentle drizzle, not storms.”  The "Amazing Grace" that Newton wrote about in his famous hymn didn’t hit him like a storm. John Newton's transformation was a drizzle. Throughout his 82-year life, John Newton went from a biblically-schooled child, to a rambunctious and incorrigible teenager, to a depraved sailor; to an outcast; to a slave-trading sea captain, to a surveyor, before becoming the beloved pastor and prolific hymn writer we all know him as.  Join us as we delve into the many dangers, toils and snares that John Newton found himself in, and how the grace of God led him safely through them all.
