VGK was hit hard by the Olympics with eight players on national rosters

There was a huge impact with the Olympic games for VGK with eight players representing five countries.  It took a while for VGK to return to normalcy with five players in the Gold Medal game.  VGK defeated the Kings in the first game back, but proceeded to lose six of seven games and it eventually cost Bruce Cassidy his job.  Cassidy was also affected by participating with Team Canada.
