- Prophecy: a word from God being declared through a human messenger telling God's truth, direction, or purposes.
- Reasons for prophecy:
     - Foretelling: Revealing something about the future. (Isaiah 9, Genesis 49)
     - Forthtelling: Revealing something concerning the present. (1 Samual 12, Acts 15:32)
     - Strengthening, encouragement, comfort: Building up God's people (1 Corinthians 14:3)
- For you to effectively shape and bless people with God's Words, God's Words must be effectively shaping and blessing you!
- Genesis 35:9-13
- Genesis 49:1, 28
- "A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble." Charles Spurgeon
- You can bless people without shielding them from the truth.
