The chapter begins with Harry entering the courtroom and recognizing it from the Pensieve. The Wizengamot comes to order and Harry recognizes Percy, who makes no indication back.
Dumbledore arrives in the nick of time, but also avoids Harry’s attention. Amelia Bones leads the questioning of Harry, who recounts the attack. Dumbledore brings in Mrs. Figg to corroborate. Tensions escalate between Dumbledore and Fudge regarding why there were two dementors in Little Whinging.
Harry is acquitted by a majority and cleared of all charges.
