#268: An attack on historic preservation in Appalachia (and everywhere)

Dela

Today, Chuck talks with Sarah Love, an archeologist and doctoral candidate at the University of Georgia, about a threat to the National Historic Preservation Act taking place right now and what we can do about it.

Resources:

  • https://www.106strong.com/ — website full of resources and a Take Action portal
  • https://www.saa.org/ — the Society for American Archaeology has educational resources on archaeology's importance to America as well as a Take Action portal.
  • https://savingplaces.org/ — the National Trust for Historic Preservation. They are the biggest preservation focused non-profit in the country, a massive distributor of preservation grants, and they also have a section dedicated to Take Action.
  • ASK your senators to say NO to the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act (S. 5653) until we can remove constraints on public involvement and Tribal Nations.
