One of the biggest lessons? Don't dress for how you're going to feel sitting in the tree—dress for the work it takes to get there. For mobile hunters carrying stands, sticks, saddles, camera equipment, or other gear deep into the woods, overheating on the walk in can leave you soaked before the hunt even begins. Lightweight, breathable layers can help manage that moisture and then transition into base layers as temperatures drop later in the season.
