Steve and I talk about a phrase we come back to often:
This too shall pass.
Not as a way to dismiss what we're feeling or to bypass the hard stuff. But as a reminder that life is always moving, changing, shifting, and unfolding.
We speak about how so much of our suffering comes from fighting reality. Arguing with what's happening. Wishing it were different. Complaining about it, resisting it, trying to control it. And how exhausting that can be.
We share what helps us move from resistance into acceptance. Not liking what's happening. Not approving of it. Just accepting that it is what it is.
We also talk about the tendency to fall into absolute thinking when life feels uncertain. The "always," the "never," the "nothing's going to change," the stories we tell ourselves when we're scared, overwhelmed, or trying to regain a sense of control.
This conversation is about learning to be okay with the not-okayness of life. About trusting that difficult seasons don't last forever. And about remembering that sometimes the greatest relief comes not from changing your circumstances, but from accepting them.
