From Corporate to Entrepreneur with Milind Kanvinde

Dela

Milind Kanvinde spent two decades inside corporate — project leader, project manager, programme management — before walking out in 2017 to build his own thing.

This episode isn't about the decision to leave. It's about the two years on either side of it.

Milind breaks down why running your idea "on the side" almost guarantees it stays on the side. The one hobby that quietly kept him afloat for a full year after he resigned. Why he stopped treating other people in his field as competition and what he did instead. And the single thing he'd tell every corporate professional to start doing five years before they plan to quit — the thing he didn't do, and paid for.

He's also a self-described introvert who had to build a network from absolute zero after twenty years of never needing one. He's honest about how uncomfortable that was and how long it actually took.

In this conversation:

(02:20) Twenty years in, and the question that wouldn't go away
(06:56) What actually runs through your head before you hand in the notice
(09:49) The culture shift nobody prepares you for
(13:36) Running a job and a venture in parallel — practically
(17:03) Why the network you build inside corporate isn't yours
(23:41) If you're an introvert: break the barrier, don't change your nature
(26:57) Collaboration over competition, and how he found his USP
(30:22) His biggest personal challenge in the transition
(32:53) Being your own boss without a boss
(36:45) What coaching actually is — and isn't
(39:45) Rapid fire
