Florida is set to execute its 19th inmate of this year tonight. 64-year-old Jesse Guardado will die by lethal injection for the September 2004 fatal stabbing and robbery of an elderly woman who helped him find housing, gave him money and helped him get a job after being paroled for a series of armed robberies. Guardado admitted to the murder, but his attorneys have argued the abuse he suffered as a child should’ve been considered by the jury that unanimously voted to give him the death penalty.
