In this episode Emma G. tells us about how she’s used songwriting as a tool for empowerment throughout her life and how she is not helping others to do the same.
Enter Emma G, an award winning singer/songwriter, author, and two time Tedx speaker, making an impact by bringing empowerment to teens through music. Surviving her own brutal experience as a child after suffering with a rare neurological condition called hydrocephalus, Emma G recovered from multiple traumas, including ten brain surgeries, along with the experience of low self-esteem and being bullied as a result of her condition.
“My goal is to save the world one song at a time – both through the music I compose, and the songs I help teenagers write. Through my music, I aim to heal, inspire strength, spread love, and convey truth: helping individuals rediscover their true selves.”
Emma G is releasing an original song each month on a specific mental health topic to create conversation around the issue and establish connection. The song for August is titled: Goodbye and centers around being bullied. Hard Rock Cafe has created a residency for Emma G in honor of her release a song a month strategy.
