Hello folks, and welcome back (at last!) to the pod. When Sean threw his weary toys out of the pram after the 50cc gigs in Stockport in 2022, he vowed that the only reason he'd come out of retirement would be if we finally got to sit down with Mr Creme... And here we are, thanks to producer Des Burkinshaw, who's currently launching an incredible series of podcasts featuring Lol and his many partners in artistic crime! If you're expecting a comprehensive, pre-prepared, sit-down interview covering the timeline of Lol's career, I'm afraid that'd be way off-beam! We think we captured something even better than that; we had the absolute joy of several hours with Lol, in a ramshackle, random and hilarious ramble through so many of Lol's adventures:
His collection of original Gizmo bits and its fascinating development and experiments, four extraordinary studio tapes, his exploits with Kevin, his beautiful and prolific painting, delicious anecdotes from his four years with 10cc (with some sneeky previews of forthcoming studio outtakes), the mad invention of Consequences, reminiscences from his and Kevin's 1980s recording in his old studio downstairs, his projects with Trevor Horn and The Producers, plus a wonderful musical treat... We had SUCH a blast - and our only hope is that you enjoy it half as much as we did!
