In Luke 9:51, Jesus steadfastly set His face toward Jerusalem, fully aware of what awaited Him. His resolve was not rooted in ignoring the difficulty but in fixing His eyes on the destination. When the Samaritans rejected Him, His disciples wanted to call down fire in retaliation, but Jesus rebuked them and simply moved on to the next village. Rejection does not end the mission. It redirects it. We are called to respond to opposition with grace and perseverance, not frustration or force. The more time we spend with Jesus in prayer, the more our character begins to reflect His. Like Jesus, we are invited to set our faces toward something greater than this world and keep moving forward in love.
