In this extended episode, we meet Sung Hyui Park, an Impact Lawyer with the law firm Bates Wells. Sung Hyui explains the problems arising from the power imbalance between investors and investees, and how her project 'Equalising Deal Terms' can help address them. The project looked into the experiences of impact investors and investees and this resulted in practical learnings and recommendations for both, including how to negotiate deals, how to simplify the terms, and how to get the best out of your lawyer.
