319. Every Yard can support our Health in Four Ways. Lawns fail at all Four. ~ Doug Tallamy, on Native Plants, with Waylon Lewis.

This week on our long-running "Walk the Talk Show" podcast and video series, with awards and millions of views over the years…

Video, Podcast: legend Doug Tallamy on Native Plants, with Waylon Lewis.

"There are four ecological responsibilities of every landscape, and I mean every landscape in the whole world, but let's talk about the US.

1. Every landscape needs to support a viable food web. 'Cause if you don't, you don't have any animals. If you don't have any animals, you don't have a functioning ecosystem.

2.  Every landscape has to support a complex community of pollinators.

3. Every landscape has to sequester carbon to help climate change.

4. And every landscape has to manage the watershed in which it lies.

Lawn does none of these things." ~ Douglas W. Tallamy
