As a 17-year veteran of the force, Officer Jackson-Goodwin serves as Lincoln’s only black female police officer. Currently, in the United States, there isn’t a lot of trust between the police and their communities, after many questionable officer-involved shootings. Officer Jackson-Goodwin provides a unique perspective on this issue of trust facing the country.
In January 2018, Officer Jackson-Goodwin and her daughter were invited on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, not only got to meet Ellen but Melissa McCarthy too. She was awarded $75 thousand after playing a game of beer pong and has since put the money to good use.
