Bob and Brad drop a bonus episode to react to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey — Bob's seen it twice and lays out a full theory of late-period Nolan as a career-long meditation on deception scaling from the individual (Memento) to the civilizational (Oppenheimer, now this), landing at 8.5/10. Brad went on a friend's fifteen-minute-notice invitation the night before, having just reread the poem, and comes in at 7/10 — arguing Nolan strips the Odyssey of its color and intimacy in service of a theme he calls narcissistic (that my generation broke the world for the next one). Both agree the cast is stacked but not showcased, that Circe's body horror rules, and that Hoyte van Hoytema's desaturated house style has now officially become a problem. Brad sips an Ardbeg Uigeadail in honor of Odysseus; Bob is drinking coffee because the movie kept him up too late.
