Flydubai Flight 1073 was supposed to be a routine flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Instead, it ended with a badly injured captain, a violent descent, an emergency diversion into Saudi Arabia, and one of the strangest aviation stories we’ve seen in years.But almost immediately, the details started changing. A knife became a cockpit crash axe.

Passengers supposedly forced their way into the cockpit, then reports said the wounded captain actually released the door. An off-duty pilot was credited with saving the aircraft, while another passenger later claimed he grabbed the controls first. Even the number of people onboard has varied between reports.
