For the past 20 years, Mike has been widely known as the lead singer of the band, The Devil Wears Prada. Sometimes during a long career a musician will break out of their mold and branch out into something new and different, much like the career of our topic of discussion, PJ Harvey. At this moment that musician may take on the moniker of "artist", and that seems to be where Mike is now.

His latest solo project, Town of Lake, in an almost oppositional and confrontational juxtaposition to what TDWP is and does. His new album, Lilac, is an amazingly focused and intricate work that will, no doubt, challenge the average Prada fan, but Mike welcomes the challenge.
