It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of ONR is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Oilers training camp, Mike Babcock's first spin as the head coach, another round of Ask the Idiots, line combinations, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether the boys had any takeaways from the first two days of Oilers camp, and whether there are any early storylines that the boys have been paying attention to. Whether it's line combos, some early injuries scares, and seeing Mike Babcock on the ice as the coach for the first time, all eyes are on the Oilers are we lead into the 2026-27 season. Needless to say, we're still in the early days, but that doesn't stop the Kool-Aid from going down smooth.
Shifting gears, the guys turned the podcast to some of the other news the Oilers announced this past week, including the announcement of Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman as alternate captains. While that conversation was happening, the boys quickly pivoted to our man Woz vlogging his way through Poland. Getting back to the NHL, the guys discussed former friend Shawn Horcoff being named interim GM in Detroit, and how he has an absolute disaster to clean up.
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of betting talk, discussed the first week of the NFL season, the Elks locking in their playoff spot, Stanley Cup odds, and wrapped up the podcast with a special musical performance from Producer Reece. With the NHL season only weeks away from kicking off, the boys had fun breaking everything down and getting excited about what's to come.
