We have selected just twenty favourites from the best and most memorable opening rounds in boxing but there are plenty of others that did not make the cut. Fights like Amir Khan’s first-round knockout defeat against Breidis Prescott in 2008, Roy Jones Jr’s “Unfinished Business” against Montell Griffin in 1997, and even one of the most significant fights in British boxing history, when George Groves floored Carl Froch in the first round of their first meeting. That’s just three fights that didn’t make it to our final 20 opening rounds, but we’re sure to have missed a good few, however, these are our favourites, and we hope you enjoy them.
