In this episode of Enneagram at Work, Joel and Jim talk with Halie Howells, owner of Wellspring Center for Counseling, about how the Enneagram has shaped her growth as both a therapist and a business leader. Halie leads a growing counseling practice with more than 30 therapists across multiple locations.
As an Enneagram 2, Halie shares the challenge of moving from being everyone's helper and cheerleader to actually taking up the role of boss—setting clear expectations, having difficult conversations, and learning that caring for people doesn't mean doing everything for them.
The conversation explores how self-awareness has helped Halie personalize the way she leads different people, build a healthier team culture, receive difficult feedback, and recognize when her own patterns could become a bottleneck for the business. She also talks about why growth has to begin with the leader: as we become more aware of ourselves, we create more room for the people around us to bring their own strengths to the table.
