Luca elaborates on the ways in which his doctoral project expanded from the aesthetic domain to include clinical, political, and social aspects. He highlights the mainstreaming of psychoanalysis in Italy, its public discourse, and the contributions of Italian Lacanians like Massimo Recalcati. Luca emphasizes the transformative power of psychoanalysis, its integration into medical education, and shares his own personal journey. We also touch upon the potential for psychoanalysis to address contemporary issues and the importance of cross-cultural exchange in psychoanalytic thought.
Luca Di Gregorio is Senior Teaching Fellow in Medical Education in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, UK, and Deputy Director of the Southampton Centre for Medical and Health Humanities.
