In this episode, I talk about how hoarding shows up in Latinx and immigrant families. We explore what hoarding actually means and how it relates to a survival mindset in immigrant families. I explore what happens in the body when we live in a hoarded environment, what the cycle of hoarding is, the danger of forced cleanouts, signs when hoarding is a concern and how children of hoardings can offer support to family members. One thing I did forget to mention during the interventions is that, for some, bringing on a hoarding specialist/coach, may be beneficial.
