Public Land - Ohio

This series highlights the highs and lows of hunting public land across different regions of America — the early mornings, the pressure, the competition, and the grind that comes with earning every bird.

In this episode, Jeff Stanfield and Andy Shaver head back to the Buckeye State with two hunting buddies who share their experiences chasing ducks on the public waters of Ohio.

They discuss some incredible black duck hunting, what makes Ohio's public waters such a unique destination for waterfowl hunters, and the challenges that come with sharing productive hunting areas with other people. They also tell stories about inconsiderate hunters and an ill placed barge on a foggy morning boat ride.

The conversation also turns to the impact of EHD (Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease) on the local deer population. They discuss how an outbreak has affected the area's whitetail deer, thinning the population and pushing more people towards waterfowl hunting.
