In today's episode of Talk Heathen, Richard Gilliver and Jamie the Blind Limey tackle cosmic sound waves, young earth claims, and the foundations of morality!
Jason in NY believes BAO waves prove God spoke the universe into existence and defends young earth creationism. How do sound waves travel without a medium in space? Why does the Bible need science to validate it if it's divinely inspired? When scientific evidence contradicts your interpretation, do you adjust your beliefs or reject the science? Your model requires more assumptions than the naturalistic explanation.
Sean in MD challenges whether morality can be objective without God, questioning how societies reach moral consensus and if genocide is objectively evil. If morality comes from God, why do believers disagree on moral issues? Empathy and social cooperation explain moral development better than divine command. When your holy book endorses slavery and genocide, how is that a better foundation than human wellbeing? Objective morality doesn't require a deity.
