#459 What if some of the words you use every day are quietly keeping you stuck without you even realising it? 👉 **Work with me:** https://www.guylawrence.com.au/booking/
I've been reflecting on how much our everyday language shapes the way we experience life, often without us even noticing. Simple phrases like "I'll try," "I should," "I have to," or "What if it all goes wrong?" might seem harmless, but I've come to realise how easily they can reinforce old patterns, create pressure and leave us feeling powerless. In this solo episode, I explore six simple shifts in language that have made a real difference in my own life. From replacing "I have to" with "I choose to," to meeting unexpected challenges with "Isn't that interesting?" rather than immediately reacting.
I also share a few personal experiences, from a memorable retreat with a guru to moments with my daughter, getting triggered in traffic, and navigating an unexpected blackout during one of our retreats. What I've come to appreciate is that changing our language isn't about pretending everything is positive or getting it right all the time. It's about becoming more aware of how we speak, the meaning we attach to things, and the choices we have in how we respond. Because sometimes, the smallest shift in the words we use can change the way we experience an entire situation.
