Mary Payne talks to her friend, podcaster and reality TV producer, Chris DeRosa about Hulu's The Swan. The Swan was a 2004 TV show that made "regular" women beautiful through plastic surgery, teeth repair, exercise, diet and therapy. And while some of that happened, mostly it was like a boot camp and the "life coach" was just a lady named Nely who yelled at the women and told them they were fat. There is also a shady plastic surgeon with a God complex who needs to be investigated ASAP. Chris opines on how he thinks the documentary could have been better and why none of these things would happen in reality TV today.
