The Blues will head to Christchurch for a Saturday afternoon date with the Crusaders in the opening week of the Super Rugby playoffs.

A 59-34 defeat to the Chiefs has consigned them to fourth, while the Chiefs will welcome the Reds next Saturday night and the Hurricanes will host the Brumbies.

Chiefs lock Naitoa Ah Kuoi joined Piney to recap the win.
