Blogging Isn't Dead: How Health Coaches Can Use Content, SEO & AI to Attract Clients

Dela

Do health coaches really need to keep pumping out new content every week to attract clients?

According to content strategist Jana Osofsky, the answer is no.

In this episode of the Health Coach Academy Podcast, Omar Cumberbatch sits down with Jana to rethink one of the most misunderstood marketing tools for health coaches: blogging.

Instead of treating your blog like an endless content treadmill, Jana teaches coaches to build what she calls a Capsule Blog Library—a strategic collection of approximately 12–20 pieces of long-form content designed to answer the questions, address the objections, and communicate the ideas your ideal clients need to understand before they're ready to work with you.

The goal isn't simply getting more website traffic. It's getting the right people to your website and creating content that moves those people closer to becoming paying clients.

Jana explains the critical difference between blogging as a business and blogging for your business. For health coaches, service providers, and entrepreneurs, those require very different content strategies. Rather than chasing page views and constantly searching for new topics, Jana recommends creating long-form thought leadership that establishes your expertise and helps prospects understand why your approach is different.

In This Episode, You'll Discover:

  • Why blogging is still a powerful marketing strategy for health coaches
  • The difference between blogging for traffic and blogging to generate clients
  • What Jana's Capsule Blog Library is and why you may only need 12–20 strategic posts
  • How long-form content can build trust, authority, and credibility with potential coaching clients
  • Why you don't necessarily need massive website traffic to make your blog profitable
  • How to decide what your ideal clients actually need to hear before they're ready to buy
  • Why repeating your best marketing messages may be more effective than constantly creating something new
  • How to repurpose and redistribute existing content instead of staying trapped on the content-creation treadmill
  • Why Jana recommends focusing on your audience before obsessing over keywords and technical SEO
  • How her "Unforced SEO" approach can help coaches create content they actually want to promote
  • How AI and ChatGPT are changing blogging and Google search
  • Why completely AI-generated content can struggle to communicate your unique perspective
  • How health coaches can use ChatGPT as a writing assistant without outsourcing their thought leadership
  • Why your ideas, opinions, methodology, and perspective are becoming even more valuable in an AI-driven world

AI Should Enhance Your Voice—Not Replace It

Jana also shares a practical approach to using AI for content creation.

Rather than asking ChatGPT to determine what you believe and then write an entire article for you, Jana encourages coaches to develop the core ideas themselves first. In her process, coaches outline with their own brains and establish their unique point of view before bringing AI into the drafting process.

The result is a hybrid approach: use AI to become faster and more efficient while keeping the expertise, experiences, opinions, and thought leadership that make your content uniquely yours.

That's especially important as AI-generated answers increasingly give consumers basic information without requiring them to visit a website. Generic information is becoming easier to obtain. Your unique perspective is what AI can't easily replace.

Stop Asking, "What Should I Post?"

One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is a simple shift in how health coaches approach content marketing.

Instead of constantly asking:

"What should I write about this week?"

Ask:

"What does my ideal client need to understand, believe, or feel before they're ready to buy my offer?"

Build your content around those answers.

Then repeat those core messages consistently.

Jana argues that repetition—not an endless stream of brand-new ideas—is what helps your audience understand what you do, trust your expertise, and eventually associate you with the problem you solve.

For health coaches who are exhausted from trying to keep up with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, podcasts, newsletters, blogs, SEO, and the latest algorithm, this episode offers a refreshingly different approach:

Create fewer pieces of content. Make them more strategic. And make every piece work harder for your business.
