In this passage, we witness the beginning of a powerful friendship between David and Jonathan, while Saul’s jealousy also begins to grow. But even in the face of envy, opposition, and fear, one truth stands firm: God’s plans cannot be stopped. No matter what schemes come from the hands of men, God will prevail through His anointed one. His purposes will always move forward, then, now, and forever.
