Brazil, Japan, The Netherlands and Spain all won with ease, but Germany were given a big fright by the Ivory Coast; there was another heroic results for Cape Verde, as there was too for Curacao and those results have left South American nations Ecuador and Uruguay in major danger of elimination.
Plus, Turkey are out, the United States impressed again, Egypt are now in pole position to finish above Belgium, and despite defeat to Morocco it was a good weekend for Scotland.
