Every draft season, a guy nobody is talking about ends up as the overall QB1, RB1, WR1, or TE1, and the managers who saw him coming are the ones holding the trophy. So this year I broke down the dark horses at every position with the upside to finish number one overall in 2026.
Some of these names will feel obvious. A few are going to sound insane, and those are the ones you want to stick around for. For every pick I go through the metrics and the situation changes, and exactly what has to happen for them to finish as the overall number one at their position.
Last year I was the loudest person in the room on Drake Maye, Chase Brown, George Pickens, and Tucker Kraft before he got hurt. All dark horses at the time, all finished near the top of their position. This list is built the same way.
