The church must stay on the mission of God. God defines the mission; the church simply participates in it. Even though believers live independently, they remain interdependent, carrying out one mission under one commander. To stay on mission, Christians need ongoing spiritual formation. This includes warning and teaching, helping believers grow into Christlikeness (Col. 1:28–29). The mission is "Him we proclaim". The mission is to make God known.
