What if you could hold grief and laughter at the same time and it wasn't called denial, it was called being fully human?
In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen sits down with stand-up comedian, personal trainer, and founder of Giggles for Good, Jeannette Rizzi, for a warm and wide-ranging conversation about humor, pain, self-care, and the kind of firm boundaries that take years to build and a lifetime to trust.
Jeannette and Dianne explore what it means to hold grief and laughter at the same time, why non-verbal healing like sauna and float tanks changes what talking alone never can, and how trusting your gut is not a soft skill but a trainable superpower.
If you have ever wondered how to keep your sense of humor when life gets heavy and your pain gets real, Jeannette will show you exactly how it is done. Watch the Someone Gets Me Podcast – Finding The Funny Without Denying The Pain

Jeannette Rizzi has spent more than 20 years at the intersection of health, wellness, leadership, and laughter. A longtime fitness and wellness executive and entrepreneur, she has built and operated businesses focused on helping people feel stronger, healthier, and better in their own skin.
She’s also a stand-up comedian who believes humor can be one of our most powerful tools for navigating the hard stuff. Jeannette has performed across the country and uses comedy to talk openly about motherhood, marriage, grief, mental health, work, money, failure, and the beautifully messy realities of life.
That belief in the healing power of laughter inspired Giggles for Good, Jeannette’s annual comedy fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The cause became deeply personal when her son was diagnosed with NF1 (neurofibromatosis type 1). Each year, Jeannette brings together comedians and supporters to raise money and awareness for NF research.
Today, she continues to bring together her worlds of wellness, comedy, advocacy, motherhood, leadership, and entrepreneurship—because sometimes taking care of yourself means sweating it out, sometimes it means slowing down, and sometimes you just really need to laugh.
