On Antonio Moresco's The Beginnings (1998, first English translation by Max Lawton from Deep Vellum), William T. Vollmann, and the vast maximalist novel no one can read, with translator and writer Max Lawton. Max has translated Sorokin's novels from Russian, Schattenfroh by Michael Lentz from German, and now this Moresco trilogy. Recorded Good Friday, days before Max and my pilgrimage out to Sacramento to interview Vollmann. Audio got kinda jacked up, that's my bad.
