ʿUmdat al-Fiqh by Ibn Qudāmah al-Maqdisī (raḥimahullāh), with the explanation of Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bassām and Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī (raḥimahumallāh), taught by Ustādh Abdul Hakeem Mitchell (hafidhahullāh)
• Sea creatures are lawful without slaughter, unless they live on land, and crabs are mentioned specifically
• The two dead animals (fish and locusts) and the two bloods (liver and spleen) are permitted
• The types of slaughter: naḥr for the camel, dhabḥ for other animals, and wounding an animal that cannot be caught
• First condition: the slaughterer must be a sane Muslim or one of the People of the Book
• Second condition: the name of Allāh is mentioned, and it is excused if forgotten when slaughtering, but not when hunting
• Third condition: a sharp tool is used, not a tooth or a nail
• Questions on stunning, and who counts as the People of the Book today
