Tax cuts for pubs and clubs | Gary Lineker calls for wealth tax

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced a 20% cut to business rates for pubs, clubs and live music venues.

Burnham has also faced calls to introduce a wealth tax by famous faces including Gary Lineker, and to pause the early release scheme from prison.

Also today, a date is set for former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro’s trial in the US, and airport drop-off fees rise by a third.
