We explore:

  • Fran Lebowitz's observations about AIDS and the loss of cultural influence
  • How gay artists transformed photography, fashion, music, and visual art
  • The extraordinary legacy of artists whose lives were cut short
  • Whether the AIDS epidemic fundamentally changed gay culture's creative identity
  • The art, collaborations, and cultural movements that might have existed
  • How younger generations connect with—and preserve—this important LGBTQ history
It's a conversation about creativity, sexuality, loss, and the enormous influence gay men have had on the world around us.

Because the art survived. But imagine everything we never got to see.
