The RIPNation Party, Oilers training camp, and peak Kool-Aid szn

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On today's podcast, the guys discussed Chalmers bailing for the weather, the RIPNation party, Kawhi Leonard, and much more.

The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about Chalmers missing another podcast because the weather in Edmonton is too nice, and he wants to take advantage of the sunshine. Despite what he says on a weekly basis, the boys are starting to think that he's not really committed to the podcast. From there, the guys went into the RIPNation that's coming up on September 26th at the Pint, and how the intro panel alone will be worth the price of admission.

Changing gears, the guys dug into the Kawhi Leonard situation in Toronto after Wanye asked whether basketball fans are happy with this trade going through after the shady doings in Los Angeles. As you'll hear, the situation is clearly serious from an NBA perspective, but it's also understandable why Raptors fans are happy to have their hero back in town. Needless to say, the Kawhi Leonard story is only to get more interesting when he signs a massive contract back in Toronto.

Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with the Oilers kicking off their first training camp in the Mike Babcock era. Somehow talking about training camp led to a trip down memory lane for Jack Campbell, and how that experiment went so sideways so quickly. From there, the boys dug into some of the early stories from training camp, including some new line combos, and what it's like to watch Mike Babcock run his first on-ice sessions as the new head coach.
