In Part Two of So Shameless, we're diving into some uncomfortable conversations about race, relationships, class, and the expectations placed on Black men and women.
We kick things off discussing reports of the Trump administration's efforts to address discrimination against white men. What does that mean for conversations about racial inequality, privilege, and discrimination in America?
Then we ask a question that's guaranteed to spark debate: Can you truly consider yourself pro-Black if you date or marry outside your race? Does supporting Black people require choosing Black love, or can the two exist independently?
The conversation gets even more controversial when we ask whether you'd rather live in a neighborhood surrounded by people of another race or in a lower-income, predominantly Black neighborhood. How much do race, class, community, and economic status influence where we choose to live?
We also explore why patriarchy affects Black men differently and whether Black men experience the same privileges traditionally associated with male dominance in society.
Finally, we get into marriage and boundaries after a husband reveals that one of his wife's seemingly harmless habits became a much bigger issue after they got married: she's too friendly with other men! Is being friendly disrespectful to your spouse, or is insecurity being disguised as a relationship boundary?
Race, loyalty, privilege, marriage, and uncomfortable truths. Nothing is off-limits on So Shameless.
