The Fifth Tradition: Hospitality

“When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shall present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.”

Hospitality sounds polite. In the Camarilla, it’s anything but.

Bob digs into the Fifth Tradition and the very practical problem it attempts to solve: how many immortal predators can a city actually sustain? We tackle Vampire’s infamous one Kindred per 100,000 mortals guideline, why it makes little sense as a measure of available blood, and why it becomes far more interesting when viewed as a measure of anonymity, hunting access, territory, and Masquerade risk.

From there, Hospitality becomes politics. Who gets into the city? Who gets turned away? What happens when the city is “full,” but an elder suddenly needs somewhere to stay? What is your reputation worth when you vouch for a newcomer—and what happens when the Prince’s legitimate authority to control population becomes a convenient weapon against political rivals?

Because another vampire doesn't just consume blood.

They consume the city's ability to pretend vampires aren't there.

Welcome to the Fifth Tradition: Hospitality.
