Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the worst third down offenses in the NFL, and Mike McCarthy has to do something to change that. Christopher Carter and Alan Saunders discuss why running the ball with Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle and calling more plays from under center could be the trick that not only makes the Steelers better on third down, but a completely better offense. But how do the Steelers do that while maintaining the right kind of offensive balance that keeps defenses guessing with Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf and Germie Bernard in the passing game.
Also, it's a Stars and Skulls grades episode where Christopher and Alan discuss the Locked on Steelers grades for the Steelers' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The defensive linemen got top marks as Cam Heyward, Yahya Black and Keeanu Benton had huge days stopping Bucky Irving along with elite showings from Jalen Ramsey and Jamel Dean. But after another down showing, do the Steelers have an offensive tackle problem with Max Iheanachor and Troy Fautanu being inconsistent?
