Dr. Mary Utter and Dr. Linda DeAngelo's research projects investigate vertical and lateral transfer students' experiences with living on campus and/or commuting to campus. Their co-authored research article is titled "Lateral Transfer Students: The Role of Housing in Social Integration and Transition." Dr. Utter's dissertation is titled "An Exploration of How Previous Collegiate Experience Influences the Social Integration Experiences of Vertical and Lateral Transfer Students at the Transfer Institution." 

Dr. Utter is an Assistant Dean of Students at Chatham University. Dr. DeAngelo is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education at the University of Pittsburgh.
