How should Christians live in a hostile world?

For many believers, it feels like there are only three options:

Fight.
Hide.
Or fit in.

But in 1 Peter 2, Peter gives us another way.

He does not tell believers to become combative.
He does not tell them to become compromising.
He does not tell them to withdraw from the world.

He teaches them to live differently.

In this chapter-by-chapter Bible teaching, Vince Miller shows how Peter calls Christians to stand firm by living distinct lives in a world that does not understand them.

In 1 Peter 2, we discover four ways Christians are called to live differently:

1) Keep growing into who Christ is making you to be. The church is not a stagnant event you attend. It is a living people being built by Christ.
2) Live with integrity. Your witness is not only built through what you say. It is built through what people see.
3) Live respectfully. Honor others without surrendering your convictions, and refuse to let the outrage of the age become the posture of your soul.
4) Live like Jesus. When faithfulness costs you something, entrust yourself to the Father and follow the Shepherd who suffered for you.

The church changes the world not by becoming like it, nor by retreating from it, but by being distinct within it.

If you are trying to follow Jesus in schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, churches, families, and communities that increasingly do not understand biblical faith, this study through 1 Peter 2 will help you stand firm.
