When I first started learning Tarot, I thought becoming a good reader meant learning all 78 cards and recalling the right meaning at the right time.
But knowing a card's meaning and knowing how to read it are not the same thing.
A definition can tell you what the Four of Pentacles traditionally represents. A skilled reader can recognize why it has appeared for this person, in this situation, right now.
That's where knowledge becomes insight.
As Tarot information becomes instantly available to everyone, card meanings will remain the foundation. But your ability to bring intuition, context and discernment to those meanings is what will set you apart.
In this second episode of our special 7-part series, we're exploring how to move beyond textbook interpretations and deliver readings that feel specific, relevant and genuinely useful.

Reflection Questions
Take an honest look at your own Tarot readings. Are you simply explaining the cards, or are you using your intuition to uncover something the person couldn't have found by looking up the meaning themselves?
When do you find your intuition flows most easily during a reading?
And when you go blank or begin second-guessing yourself, what do you usually do next? Do you pause and reconnect with the card, or retreat into the safety of learned meanings?
You might like to pull one Tarot card and ask: What will help me access my intuition more consistently in my readings?
Then resist the urge to reach for the guidebook. Pause. Look at the image. Notice what draws your attention. Let your intuition guide you.
