The gospel is the good news that Jesus is King. Through the cross he has defeated the powers that held us captive, opened the way back to God, and taken his rightful throne. Our response is not merely to believe certain truths about him, but to entrust ourselves to him in faithful allegiance. God gives us his Spirit to make that life of trust and obedience possible.
